The efficient operation of packaging machines depends on the consistent flow of products to the downstream process. Timely delivery of products to the next station enhances the operational efficiency of your production or packaging line. Modern machinery utilizes diverse conveyance methods, such as conveyor belts, pushers, or distributed slot systems. For each type, OMRON offers a solution in the form of a library of function blocks, effectively reducing the time needed for the development of your PLC program.
Here we’ll provide two examples of customer-specific mechanical setups. The objective is to efficiently deliver the products, either individually or grouped together, at precisely the right moment.
Conveyor Management
Some types of food products are not allowed to touch each other on the conveyor, as they get deformed, or will stick to each other. Avoiding this the separation of products with a clear and constant gap on the belt. To address that risk, the in-feed conveyor needs to be managed to organize the products so that they are separated by constant gaps, matching the downstream machine.

- No need for CAMs and on-fly calculation of correction profiles

RaceTrack
The RaceTrack transport system revolutionizes material handling with its high-speed capabilities and efficient design. Products are efficiently changed orientation, grouped and transported along, ready for further processing or packaging.
